Does your brand actually need Shopify Plus?
When a founder asks us whether they need Shopify Plus, the conversation usually ends up somewhere else. The store has become hard to run. It slows down on sale days, a wholesale buyer is asking for their own price list, and since the UAE launch there's a second store to manage, with separate stock and separate discount codes. Often someone on the team spends the first hour of every day fixing the gaps between Shopify and the ERP.
Plus can fix a lot of that, but not on its own. Paying for the plan unlocks features. Somebody still has to work out how your stores, catalogues, checkout and integrations should fit together, and then build it. That second part is what we do at Amwhiz, with an in-house team of more than 100 people in Chennai and clients in 11 countries.
What Shopify Plus costs in 2026
Shopify lists Plus at $2,300 a month on a three-year term, or $2,500 a month on a one-year term. Once your sales pass a certain volume, the flat fee is replaced by a percentage of revenue, which is capped at $40,000 a month. Pricing at this level is partly negotiated, so check the current figures with Shopify before you set a budget.
This is roughly what the extra money gets you compared with Shopify's standard plans.
| Area | Standard plans (up to Advanced) | Shopify Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly platform fee | Up to $399 | From $2,300 on a three-year term |
| Extra storefronts | One store per plan | Main store plus 9 expansion stores |
| Fee for third-party gateways | Higher, depends on plan | 0.20% per transaction |
| B2B selling | Core tools, with limits | Unlimited catalogs, customer-specific pricing, deposits and partial payments |
| Checkout | Standard settings | Much deeper customisation of fields, logic and upsells |
| Automation | Shopify Flow | Shopify Flow plus Launchpad for scheduled sales |
Wholesale used to be a big reason to move to Plus. That changed a bit in April 2026, when Shopify opened up some of its core B2B features to standard plans as well. So if wholesale is the main thing pushing you towards Plus, look at what your current plan can now do before you sign a contract.
Shopify's own guidance is that brands doing around $80,000 a month in sales should start looking at Plus. In our experience revenue is a weaker signal than complexity. A brand selling in three countries, with wholesale buyers and an ERP, often gets more from Plus than a bigger brand with one simple store.
What we build on Shopify Plus
A lot of our Plus work is about selling in more than one market. We set up country-specific prices, currencies, languages, payment methods and shipping rules, and where it makes sense we use expansion stores that share products and data instead of running as separate islands.
Checkout is another big one. On Plus we can add custom fields, delivery date pickers, gift notes, address and pincode validation, and post-purchase offers, all following your brand and your business rules.
For brands selling wholesale, we build B2B setups with company accounts, customer-specific pricing, minimum order quantities and payment terms, so retail and wholesale can run from the same Shopify admin.
Then there are integrations, which is where Plus projects usually get complicated. We connect Shopify to ERPs, accounting software and CRMs such as HubSpot, Zoho and Salesforce, sync stock with POS systems in physical stores, and send order and cart updates over the WhatsApp Business API. When there's no app that does what you need, our developers write one. We also use Shopify Flow to automate jobs like order tagging, fraud checks and low-stock alerts.
And if you're coming from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a custom platform, we handle the migration, including products, customers, order history and the 301 redirects that protect your search rankings. For brands that want a fully custom front end, we also build headless storefronts on top of Shopify.
Not sure whether Plus is worth it for you? Send us your monthly order volume and the three things that frustrate you most about your current setup. On a free call, we'll tell you whether Plus fixes them or whether there's a cheaper way. Book a free call or message us on WhatsApp.
How a Plus project runs with us
We start by looking at what you already have: the store, the systems around it, how data moves between them and where things break. For migrations, we also go through your catalogue size, URL structure and every integration before we quote, because surprises in those areas are what blow up enterprise budgets.
Next we write up the architecture. That means deciding what Plus handles natively, what needs an app and what needs custom code. You get that in writing along with a fixed quote.
The build itself happens in phases, usually the core store first, then integrations, then B2B or extra markets. Each phase goes onto a staging store for you to review before anything goes live. Before launch we test checkout, payments and data sync with realistic order volumes, so your first big sale isn't also your first real load test.
After go-live we stay close for the first few weeks, then move you to a monthly support plan with a dedicated Shopify team. We sign an NDA before any engagement starts, and our contracts include the delivery date. If we finish late, you aren't billed for the extra days.
Questions brands ask us about Plus
How long does a Shopify Plus project take? Upgrading a well-organised store can take a few weeks. A full build with B2B, several markets and an ERP connection usually runs two to four months.
Can you move us from Magento to Shopify Plus? Yes. We move products, customers, order history and content, and set up redirects so your Google rankings carry over.
Can we sell B2B without Plus? Sometimes. Standard plans now include some B2B tools. Plus adds unlimited catalogs, customer-specific pricing and more flexible payment terms.
What does a Plus project with Amwhiz cost? It depends on scope, so we quote after a free discovery call. You get a fixed price, with the delivery date written into the contract.
